GPOYW at the Way Station edition. Ten years ago, I would have made a groan-worthy bathroom joke, but I’ll spare you and say this is the best bathroom in New York City for someone like me.

Doctor Who Nerd: What the fuck? What the fuck? What the fuck? Rebel Flesh & Almost People add to a very successful, classic-style two-parter (that outdoes that Sontaran shit from last year, I think). I don’t want to spoil anything— I don’t think they’re airing the new one over here tonight (which is a horrible, horrible mistake).  But … I just..Moffat & co’s just going all fucking buck-wild, this year.  Fucking Buck-wild Doctor Who.  That may be the nerdiest sentence I’ve typed… well, today. Just today. Let’s be realistic here.
(I complain about other nerd-y shit sometimes, as nerdy dudes are wont to do, and so there are people who think I’m some angry jerk who has a chip on my shoulder on a warpath— they tell me that, quite openly.  When I watch something nerd-y, all I want is to feel like I feel right now.  (a) I don’t know what’s going to happen next, and (b) I trust the people telling the story completely to have something halfway decent up their sleeves.  That’s it.  That’s all there is to that job.  It’s such a small thing.  And if the guy who wrote fucking Coupling can pull it off… what’s anyone else’s excuse?).

Dude, I KNOW! I watched “The Almost People” last night and that was ridiculous. Just insane! One of the things that I really enjoy about Moffat’s series is it feels dangerous. With Tennant and Davies it always seemed like that no matter how ridiculous it got you knew everyone was going to come out of it just fine. That is so not the case with the current series, the world that Moffat plays in is actually dangerous and I don’t think we can say that about any other previous season.
