Dwayne McDuffie, the creator of Static (and the TV show some of you may know as Static Shock), the Green Lantern John Stewart, and the founder of Milestone has passed away as reported by many news outlets. I’m beyond words and ability to say anything of note beyond that I was reading Static when I was thirteen, Damage Control remains one of my favorite books, and his work on Justice League Unlimited was some of the best writing in the cartoon medium. He was a pioneer for diversity in comics and I think it will be quite some time before we read another voice similar to his. My deepest well wishes to his friends and family, and please know that there are so many of us willing to do anything for you in this time that is unbelievably difficult.
