I was just thinking about this system for tagging documents on your computer similar to how a blog’s tags work, but in Word or whatever other Office application you use. Tagging it so that documents, or mini-essays that touch on different topics or strands of ideas can be viewed whenever you open a folder. Since I just got my new computer, I’ve been having to update certain documents...

– Mark Waid, remembering Dwayne McDuffie. Sorry if I’m getting overly-sentimental with this, but this is a great quote standing on its own.

I Stand With Planned Parenthood →
librarysciences: Did you hear? The House voted to bar Planned Parenthood from federal funding. They cut funding for HIV tests, cancer screenings, birth control, and more, putting millions of women and families at risk. We can’t let it go unanswered. It’s time for you and me to stand with Planned Parenthood. Sign the open letter to the reps who voted for this bill — and to the senators who still...

What's Going on in Brooklyn Today?
Me: I just made fun of a kid's hat that looks like someone scalped a Wild Thing. We moved the office printer to my desk for the shorter people to reach.
Friend: Hahahaha.
Me: I just dumped half a jug of a water on the rug.
Friend: Dork.
Me: The joke I made about the Wild Thing Scalp Hat Thing is that the kid is so going to regret it ten years from now when he looks through old Facebook photos with him wearing it.
Friend: Yeah, I get it, but what about the spilling water?
Me: I was refilling the water cooler.
Friend: oh haha. i didnt get that.
Me: And i spilled about a fourth of it on the rug. It was dramatic.
Friend: hahaha oh dave. i love you.
Me: you can picture it can't you?
Friend: yup

Aaron Sorkin to guest-star on 30 Rock?  →
Okay, that may be a little too meta even for me, but something tells me this may be the best episode of this season so far. Also: I thought he was making his directorial debut with a movie about John Edwards? I haven’t heard a thing about this HBO series but I’m totally down for that too.

Egypt.
When I graduated from St. Bonaventure in 2003, my graduation present was traveling with my Dad to Egypt on business. Now you’re probably like “ooohhhh, what kind of BUSINESS?” And it’s nothing particularly intriguing, but it’s not any of the Internet’s business anyway. We stayed in a fortress hotel just outside of Cairo. Everyday we would get picked up and...

– Stephen Elliott. This is starting to become a Quote-Blog, and for that I apologize. This is just one of the things that I’ve always constantly believed in that I think is a cousin to this quote. I’ve never really believed that there is any amount of genius to writing that doesn’t...

Yesterday morning we were listening to some track from 500 Days of Summer. (You said it was a Regina Spektor song) and it’s a song of what you always see in the morning, coming through orange and past the building across the way that still has a Christmas Tree in its lobby. We’re preparing for the morning, smiling, and moving out of each other’s way familiar with our morning...
