PAPER MAN →
Paper Man is arguably the first movie of the contemporary, comics-heavy movie era to hint (if not explicitly suggest) that adult males need to get the fuck over their obsession with caped heroes who always seem to be right around the corner to rescue us. For someone who just read about this movie today, not having heard a single thing about it, I must say I’m really interested in this.

lifeserial: So there are a lot of good, viable answers to that bigger question, “What are we here for?”—and many answers tied to hope and faith—but nothing we can physically hold in our hands. (Tangent: Religion asks that you don’t need proof; it says just have faith. The human in me says, “Well, that’s convenient for you, Religion.”) Truthfully, answer that question however you’d reasonably...

tesslynch: Let’s try an exercise. I say, “Costco.” What do you say? A ten-ton bag of chicken parts? Six thousand diet Pepsis? Roast chickens on a spit? Enough toilet paper to get you through the rest of your life? Warren Ellis Documentary Announced. →
…the panel ended with a teaser trailer for the team’s next project, produced along with documentary film maker Kevin Thurman. The clip showed a dark image of a bearded man smoking and drinking Red Bull, speaking about life and purpose and writing, ending with the words: Warren Ellis Captured Ghosts 2011 Awesome. To be honest, I can’t wait to catch that Grant Morrison documentary this...

Blergh.
We’re a bit hungover here as it’s been an event weekend. My girlfriend’s birthday and crops of people in town and staying at our house, staying up until the sun comes up, blah blah blah. The usual. So while the hungover girls are sprawled all over the couch watching the cancer that is the Sex and the City movie I’ve made a run for it, and about to catch up on all the C2E2...

Motivation, take 1.
I get really fired up sometimes. Yesterday was one of those days. I get so into something it gets to the point where I can’t think about anything else but what I’m currently working on. Is it a downfall? I don’t see it that way, but when you’re around gifted, creative people like I am it only helps to have this condition. So I think it’s important to have this much...
